Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts can opt out of his contract at the end of the 2022 season, but he said Monday that it’s too early for him to start thinking about that possibility. Bogaerts, who signed a six-year, $120 million extension with Boston in April 2019, can opt out of the final three years (and $60 million) of that deal at the end of next season. The shortstop’s future is completely in his own hands, as he has a full no-trade clause in his deal as well.
