WORCESTER – WooSox broadcaster Josh Maurer has been called up to the big leagues for a two-game stint this weekend and will call a pair of games for his hometown Philadelphia Phillies. Maurer, 40, a native of Philadelphia, and lifelong Phillies fan is filling in for longtime broadcaster Tom McCarthy on NBC Sports Philadelphia. Maurer has been calling minor league baseball games since 2005 and has spent the last eight seasons with the Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
