The family of Jerry Remy released a statement through the Red Sox Monday, offering thanks to team ownership, to fans, and to the doctors who helped treat him. Remy died Saturday at 68 after battling lung cancer since 2008. He leaves his wife of 47 years, Phoebe, and three children.
