It was fake crowd noise being used to cheer each player on as they made their way down the first base line, with card board cutouts in the Green Monster. With both the Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles on the field, everyone was asked to take a moment to recognize the heroes who have shown up everyday amid the COVID-19 outbreak: the doctors, nurses, ENTs, and frontline workers.
