New Red Sox infielder Kiké Hernandez has known Alex Cora since he was a kid, now will play for him in Boston

Kiké Hernandez was just a kid when he met Alex Cora for the first time. Now, after officially signing his two-year deal with the Red Sox on Tuesday, the former Dodger will have the chance to call one of his boyhood idols his manager. Hernandez, who like Cora is from Puerto Rico, grew up in what he calls the “golden age” of Puerto Rican baseball, watching big-leaguers like Cora, Ivan Rodriguez, Roberto Alomar, Bernie Williams, Juan Gonzalez and Jorge Posada star in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
