In Wednesday's 1-0 loss to the Red Sox at Citi Field, the Mets (9-10) wasted yet another quality start from ace Jacob deGrom — don't look so surprised — as Boston swept them over two games here. The Mets were two-hit while striking out 14 times, perhaps their worst offensive performance of the season. The Mets now head into an off day, which could be good (rest and reset before a two-city road trip) or bad (playing every day could help hitters gain a rhythm).
