The trade deadline produced fireworks throughout Major League Baseball on Friday afternoon, but the Rockies stayed quiet, holding onto star shortstop Trevor Story and right-handed starter Jon Gray. Both players are scheduled to become free agents at the end of the season and there was a lot of speculation that both players would be traded, rather than letting them walk with the Rockies getting only draft pick compensation in return.
