The Red Sox will likely include every player they think can help them during the 60-game season and give some spots to some promising prospects for development purposes. At the end of camp, the Sox will take 30 players on their active roster for Opening Day and send up to 30 to their alternate training site in Pawtucket. Per MLBTradeRumors, teams are not required to fill all 60 slots and players on the 40-man roster don’t have to be included.
