Alabama pitcher Casey Cobb became the 10th player from an Alabama high school or college to sign with an MLB team since the First-Year Player Draft on June 10-11. After going undrafted, Cobb signed with the Boston Red Sox on Monday. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, Major League Baseball reduced the draft from 40 rounds to five in 2020 and put a cap of $20,000 on the signing bonus that teams could offer undrafted players.
