Former Red Sox starter Jon Lester is a free agent after the Cubs declined their $25 million option over him for 2021. Lester, who has been with the Cubs since 2015, finally completed the six-year, $155 million deal he signed with Chicago in Dec. 2014. Lester, who will be 37 next season, was not himself over the last two years, posting a combined 4.64 ERA and 4.49 FIP in 232 ⅔ innings over 43 starts.
