Red Sox trim list of candidates; Alex Cora could interview soon

Diamondbacks bench coach Luis Urueta -- who interviewed both this month and in January before the Sox hired Ron Roenicke -- is no longer in the mix, according to a major-league source. The Boston Globe’s Alex Speier reports Twins bench coach Mike Bell and Cubs third-base coach Will Venable are also out of the running. At least two candidates -- Pirates bench coach Don Kelly and Yankees bench coach Carlos Mendoza -- had in-person second interviews with the club.
