Red Sox great Dustin Pedroia is ready to call it quits, four years after a vicious slide left the former American League MVP with knee issues and all but ended his chances of making the Hall of Fame. But the second baseman is unlikely to officially retire, because that would mean forfeiting the $12 million he is owed this coming season. The two sides are working toward a “resolution,” according to the Boston Globe.
