With the Red Sox officially going with a five-man rotation to start the season, it appears Houck is ticketed for the alternate site (and eventually Triple-A Worcester) unless someone gets hurt. Righty Matt Andriese, who shined Tuesday with four shutout innings, also won’t make the rotation but profiles as a key bullpen piece for Boston. Andriese’s strong showing improved his spring ERA to 3.00.
