Two more runs in the fifth and another run off an error in the sixth pushed the Red Sox's lead to 6-0 going into the top of the seventh, where the Pirates did not go down without a fight. Johnson followed up earning a save against the host Lockeroom team in the semifinals by throwing five shutout innings in the final. Reliever Hunter Coleman hit a batter with a pitch, and Russellville's Blake Dawson reached on an error to start the rally.
