During his appearance on the podcast, Kelly defended former Red Sox manager Alex Cora, who MLB named in its investigation report as one of the main ringleaders in Houston’s 2017 illegal sign stealing scandal. Cora served as Astros’ bench coach in 2017, before leaving to manage Boston. The Red Sox let Cora go in January because of his involvement in the Astros’ cheating scandal.
