Chris Sale and Eduardo Rodriguez certainly were missed during the Boston Red Sox’s 2020 season. And while getting the duo back will boast the starting rotation, Chaim Bloom doesn’t want to get complacent. Both Sale (Tommy John surgery) and Rodriguez (myocarditis) missed the entire 2020 campaign.
Of course, this isn’t the first time the Red Sox have faced adversity in recent years. They hit rock bottom in 2012 before winning the World Series in 2013. And they suffered back-to-back last-place finishes in 2014 and 2015 before then securing three straight divisional crowns, culminating with another World Series title in 2018 — their fourth since 2004 — on the heels of a 108-win regular season.
The Boston Red Sox are in the market for a new manager. Ron Roenicke took over the job entering the 2020 Major League Baseball following the suspension of Alex Cora and will not be returning in 2021. Roenicke served as the team’s bench coach in 2018 and 2019 prior to taking over the head job.
And so I can’t point my finger on one reason or two reasons why we’ve had sort of these really high highs and low lows. "As we go forward, we are looking to bring that consistency to the table, and be knocking on the door of a division championship, pennant, and ultimately a World Series with greater regularity and greater frequency. The Red Sox have hammered on the idea that they are trying to build a roster that creates sustainable success.
Peter Abraham | On baseball Alex Cora has everything in a manager the Red Sox need Here was the question posed to Red Sox president Sam Kennedy on Tuesday: Does he consider Alex Cora a candidate to return as manager? Kennedy could have said something diplomatic along the lines of, “We will always treasure what Alex accomplished as manager, but our decision in January was made for a reason and we’re moving ahead. That would have settled the issue.
If the 2021 draft order is determined by record, here's where the Red Sox will pick in the first round.
Peter Abraham | On Baseball After a lost Red Sox season, thankfully it’s time to start looking ahead Emptying out the notebook after a Red Sox season that was different for so many reasons, almost all of them bad: ▪ Chaim Bloom indicated on Sunday that Alex Cora would not return as manager based on his actions while the bench coach in Houston. But he would not definitively rule Cora out. I don’t want to say anything about him that I have not been able to say to him,” Bloom said.

So, Ryan made his way up to Boston from Memphis and got himself a spot at the popular Bleacher Bar on Lansdowne Street where he could see his kid brother play the first Major League Baseball game of his caree...
